Vasundhara Sewa Samiti (VSS), Kalyanpur is a voluntary non-profit organization working in the remote desert region of western Rajasthan, particularly in the Thar Desert areas of Balotra district (formerly Barmer) near the India–Pakistan border. Since 1996–97, the organization has been working with SC, ST, women, and other marginalized communities to improve their living conditions.
VSS focuses on community-led development, sustainable livelihoods, conservation of traditional water resources, health and environmental awareness, and promotion of fundamental rights. Through grassroots efforts, the organization also supports women’s livelihoods, climate resilience, and community participation in Panchayati Raj systems, helping rural communities become more self-reliant and resilient.
